Pilates has completely altered my body.

I feel like many people avoid exercise because we see ourselves as not part of some unspoken fitness club. We have all been raised to think our bodies are wrong, too big, not esthetically pleasing, etc. So I know speaking for myself only, in the past I dieted and beat my body into submission to make it smaller, more pleasing, more attractive. I was doing it for all the wrong reasons.

My body has gotten me through 41 years of living on this earth. It walks and functions well. It is with me in my happy times when I celebrate, and always with me as I am crying myself to sleep over something tragic.

Please don't ever think you can't do things like Pilates and Yoga if you aren't a tiny human. I can hold a teaser and plank in all my chubby glory because I am strong AF.

I've spent the last 4 years working out for strength, balance, and to honor my body versus kicking my own ass to fit an aesthetic. I gave up on crash diets, worrying about side comments as well as the mean voices in my head. After I found out a crowd still screams for fat rolls, they still yell for cellulite, and they will celebrate the beauty in all body types right along with you if you let them.

All of us have been taught different things. People are made very uncomfortable when you are happy while being the opposite of thin. Sometimes you just have to let the poopy pantses poop their pants and have a sit in it.

Fitness is for every body! You can partake in it for the comfort and joy it brings you without telling your flesh prison it's not enough.
